From a small company with two staff, JWF Industries, had over the years, grown into a conglomerate and is eyeing strategic expansion of its facilities to rank one of the largest in the United States, so as to be able to undertake even bigger ticket projects.

Today, with over 450 individuals in its employment, JWF, which started in a two-car garage, now occupies a one million square feet facility and has four major subsidiaries, JWF Industries, Environmental Tanks and Containers (ETC), JWF Defence and Atlantic Industrial. It also has annual sales in excess of $120 million. So far, JWF Industries said it has invested $1.2 million to increase its blast/paint envelope size and capacity.

In a presentation during a recent media tour of its facilities by Orient Energy Review, Mr. Matthew Hughes, stated that as a result of this and other investments, the company now boasts of the largest powder coating line east of the Mississippi.

He further stated that the company has one million square feet under roof of manufacturing space in four primary manufacturing centres, adding that most of its facilities are secured by fence and 24-hour guard and surveillance.

Other facilities of the company that put it at a greater advantage over its peers, he said, include a fully integrated and automated Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system; documented ER process for configuration management and secure document control; backup, side-load, and drive off loading docks and 10 acres of lay down area.

Hughes  further stated that the company operations is safe and has a customer-focused approach; excellent longstanding reputation for customer satisfaction; quality, delivery, price; engineering and design capabilities; true ‘turnkey’ solution.

JWF is one of the largest contract manufacturers in the east and the company has a significant presence in Upstream, Midstream, Defense, Original Equipment Manufacturing, Rail car and Power generating industries.

Its products and services also include Fabricated parts, Machined parts, Weldments, Assemblies, Painting, Integration and Engineering.

JWF Industries was designed from the ground up to be a vertically integrated fabricator, allowing it complete control over planning, scheduling and quality.

The company’s documented processes and procedures enable it to ensure quality and repeatability regardless of the personnel performing the work, while its lean approach to cell layout combined with a 5S culture provides a clean, consistent and safe work environment.

The company successfully up-armored 325 HumVee’s for the United States’ Department of Defense, while its Common Vehicle assembly line at the JWF vehicle integration facility undertakes Complex Vehicle Build from floor up among others.

The company, which is one of the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) in the US energy sector; boasts of power generating solutions, hydroelectric and condenser facilities and is into API tank manufacturing and site installation, upstream fluid storage, wellhead equipment, midstream spools & vessels and many others.

One of its subsidiaries, Environmental Tank & Container’s, ETC, above-ground Impoundments are an economic solution for high volume water storage without extensive permitting and time constraints associated with in-ground systems. The impoundment system can function as a long-term centralized impoundment that feeds multiple remote impoundments, or a single use site specific impoundment. Available in 10,000 barrels (bbl), 22,000 bbl, 40,000 bbl and 60,000 bbl capacity.

ETC’s 500 barrels portable storage tanks come in smooth wall or corrugated wall configurations. All have ‘V-bottom’ floors for fast and easy cleanout. The long walls are made from continuous 40 inches sheets of steel that require few weld joints. This feature greatly reduces the opportunity for leaks, cracks, and hidden corrosion.

ETC is ASME and API 12F Certified. Each tank is fabricated in accordance with the latest edition of API 12F specifications and available in 3/16” and ¼” steel plate construction. A variety of tank sizes, interior linings, exterior coatings, and customer modifications are also available. also offer walkways, crossovers, and stairways to complete project.”

JWF Industries said it has invested $1.2 million to increase its blast/paint envelope size and capacity, adding that as a result of this and other investments, the company now boasts of the largest powder coating line east of the Mississippi.

The massive buildings at JWF’s Iron Street location boast crane capacity of 70,000 pounds, a 60,000 square feet automated powder coating/wet coating/CARC paint line, and a multitude of metalworking and support equipment.

Other facilities of the company that put it at a greater advantage over its peers, include a fully integrated and automated Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system; documented ER process for configuration management and secure document control; backup, side-load, and drive off loading docks and 10 acres of lay down area.

The company, east located in rural Pennsylvania, has changed how the industry looks at manufacturing products.

  • ASME Large Tank Facility – The Company has ASME American Society of Mechanical Engineering certification which means they can build pressure vehicles. The company manufactures API tanks, and condensers, etc.
