African nations, especially oil producing nations, have been urged to devise strategic means of exploring and exploiting natural resources for the benefit of the continent.
Speaking at the on-going Nigerian-African Natural Resources Energy Investment Summit in Lagos, the executive secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Mr. Simbi Wabote said a great deal of unexplored, yet fortune-changing natural resources abound in Africa.
“Great deal of fortune-changing natural resources abound in Africa that are yet to explored and exploited for the good of the continent,” he said.
The organisers said the 3-Day Summit holding at the International Conference Center, Abuja is aimed at discovering solutions and exhibit technologies that will lead to the growth and industrialization of Africa.
The Summit will also seek out friendly propositions and more climate friendly solutions, while encouraging development and financing of green energy projects.
Wabote assured participants that discussions proposals made by industry stakeholders at the summit on the exploration and exploitation of natural resources would be taken to the presidential level, and furthermore to the African Union.
“Strategically, they need to look at how we are going to exploit and explore our natural resources for the benefit of Africa,” he said.
The local content boss also stressed the need for African countries to come together and strategize on how to respond to the threats of natural resources on the continent.
