Leading industry event invites international delegates, attendees and exhibitors to Experience the Energy

Calgary, AB (June 12, 2017) – Global Petroleum Show (GPS), an industry leading oil and gas exhibition, officially kicks-off its 49th yeartomorrow in Calgary at Stampede Park. From June 13-15, this industry leading event will provide attendees with direct access to the entire supply chain, innovative technologies, products and services, and a massive number of educational seminars within the energy sector. The three-day event will bring together energy professionals, international delegates and exhibitors from 110 countries to strengthen business relationships, network, and do business with more than 1,000 exhibitors.

The highly anticipated Energy Leaders Forum will be held on Wednesday, June 14 from 7:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Calgary. Renowned leaders, innovators and policy makers will gather to discuss perspectives on global energy supply and demand and the importance of a cleaner global energy strategy. The forum is set to feature highly distinguished panelists including, the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Federal Minister of International Trade, and a number of highly esteemed international delegates from Argentina, Cuba, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the U.S., with Alberta Premier Rachel Notley to provide closing keynote remarks.

 

Another of this year’s unique events, a traditional pancake breakfast hosted by Brian Jean, leader of Alberta’s Wildrose party, will take place on June 13 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Coke Stage outside BMO Hall B at Stampede Park. The first 1,000 visitors can register to enjoy the festivities free-of-charge, with an option to donate cash or a non-perishable food item in support of the Fort McMurray Food Bank.

 

In addition to the many networking events and educational seminars, Stampede Park will be filled with new technology and exhibition zones focused on clean technology, water innovation, pipeline technology, and transportation and logistics. The Digital Oilfield Zone is also back this year and has been expanded to three times its previous size to better allow attendees to learn about advanced technologies like drones, data collection, big data and mobile software that optimize business process management using information technology and engineering expertise.

 

GPS 2017 exhibition hours are Tuesday, June 13 and Wednesday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Media are required to pre-register to obtain a show badge for the event and will need to provide accreditation (a piece of photo identification and an official business card) upon arrival at the Press Office, located in Room 101 and 102 beside Hall D in the BMO Centre.
