The board of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company Plc has appointed Yusuf Usman Yahaya as the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Yahaya’s appointment is sequel to the resignation of the former managing director, Garba Haruna who has piloted the affairs of the company since 2014. Engr. Haruna resigned his position as he was moving on to pursue other professional and personal endeavours.
Yahaya until his appointment, was an expert consultant with the USAID Nigerian Power Sector Program and senior adviser to the managing director of Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
He has led an energy advisory and projects company on investments and development of proprietary and third-party frontrunner on- and offgrid thermal greenfield renewable projects.
He has also at various times been a strategic analyst and specialist at the General Electric Company where he worked in the global growth organization on flag planting and market development strategies on portfolio across transportation, power and water, healthcare, and oil and gas.
He served as the company’s country manager for global electric water & process technologies before leaving the company. Yahaya is a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria; the Nigerian Society of Engineers; the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria; the Society of Petroleum Engineers; the Project Management Institute and Corporate Governance Society of Nigeria.
He is also a Fellow of the Nigeria Institution of Power Engineers; the Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria; the Institute of Management Consultants; the Nigeria Institution of Power Engineers; the Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria and the Institute of Management Consultants.
