Nigeria’s minister of state for petroleum resources, Chief Timipre Silva, will lead the ministerial and policy panel discussion at the oncoming Egypt Petroleum Show, noted as North Africa and the Mediterranean’s most important oil and gas exhibition and conference.
The event held under the patronage of His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, will take place from 14 – 16 February in Cairo at the Egypt International Exhibition Center with an expanded exhibition space attracting 20,000 attendees from local & international businesses.
Organizers say the Egypt Petroleum Show will identify opportunities from Egypt, North Africa and the Mediterranean’s future project requirements, strategic priorities and gain insights into the wider oil and gas sector.
“The event is a key platform in the energy calendar bringing together government representatives, Global CEOs, NOCs, IOCs, international service providers, EPCs, consultants and financiers to address the evolving opportunities in global energy markets,” the organizers said in a statement.
With Egypt officially announced as the hosts of COP27, the Egypt Petroleum Show convenes at a critical time in the industry’s ongoing recovery and transition, the organizers said. The climate change conference, more commonly referred to as COP27, will be the 27th United Nations Climate Change conference. The 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to the UNFCCC will take place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
COP 27 was originally expected to take place from 8-20 November 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, COP 26 was rescheduled from November 2020 to November 2021. As a result, COP 27 will take place from 7-18 November 2022.
EGYPS 2020 hosted 438 exhibitors from 80 countries and welcomed 30,369 attendees over 3 days.
“As we approach 2022, we look forward to connecting the international energy community in Cairo and to welcoming you to the 5th Anniversary edition of the Egypt Petroleum Show,” the statement said.
Other ministers expected to speak at the Egypt Petroleum Show 2022, include minister of petroleum and mineral resources, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Tarek El Molla; minister of energy and natural resources, Republic of Djibouti, Yonis Ali Guedi; and minister of energy, commerce and industry, Republic of Cyprus, Natasha Pilides.
Others ministers expected to speak at the Egypt Petroleum Show are of energy and mineral resources, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Dr Saleh Al Kharabsheh; chairman, Palestinian energy & natural resources authority, Zafer Melhem; Yemen minister of oil and minerals, Abdul Salam Baaboud; Senegalese minister of petroleum and energies, Dr Aissatou Sophie Gladima, and Dr Fatih Birol, executive director, International Energy, who would the keynote speaker at the premium energy show
“The Egypt Petroleum Show is where oil and gas professionals convene to engage in dialogue, create partnerships, do business and identify solutions and strategies that will reshape the global energy markets.”
