The Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Mrs Hadiza Bala-Usman has reiterated that her administration was poised to meeting international standards in its dealing.
She stated this at the 2017/2018 Long Service & Merit Awards, held in Lagos and initiated by the present Management to recognize officers and staff who have spent 25 years and above in meritorious service to Nigeria through the Authority.
Speaking at the event, Bala-Usman noted that, “Our leadership is ambitious and therefore determined to move the Authority from where they met it to meet international best practices.
“The management will always accord special priority to the welfare of officers, staff and retirees of the Authority.” She said.
Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of former MDs present at the event, the Managing Director Bello Gwandu, praised the management of NPA for bringing innovations into ports activities in Nigeria.
Dignitaries present included the representative of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Hon. Minister of Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo and the Hon. Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige.
