Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has held discussions with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz on efforts being taken to stabilise and rebalance global oil markets.

Saudi state news agency, SPA, said the telephone discussion between the two leaders took place yesterday.

The two leaders “stressed the importance of compliance, by all participants, to the OPEC+ agreement and the agreed upon compensation mechanism,” Reuters quoted the SPA report.

Details of the account of the ministerial panel of key OPEC+ oil producers, headed by Saudi Arabia, which held yesterday is still sketchy.

The virtual meeting was to review the oil market and the group’s compliance with the current oil supply cut pact.
