Safetec UK Limited, a leading provider of risk management, technical safety and associated services, has secured over a million pounds worth of sales in the UK less than a year after the appointment of a new managing director and technical director.
Babak Alnasser joined Safetec UK last September, having previously managed the technical, safety and risk (TSR) division within a large multi-discipline consultancy. Babak’s first year as managing director has led to a number of new clients and contract wins, delivering safety and risk services for several leading North Sea operators.
Babak said: “Despite the impact of the pandemic, it’s been a highly successful year for us and surpassed our expectations of where we had hoped to be. We have been able to establish a strong reputation for our work and secure frame agreements with some of the major operators.
“Safety is a crucial element of any operation and we want to ensure that our clients are working as safely and efficiently as possible. We identified an opportunity in the market for a flexible and focused safety and risk consultancy and have seen a positive response from our clients.”
Earlier this year Louis Findlay joined Safetec UK as technical director to work alongside Babak. Louis was previously skills group manager at another large multi-discipline consultancy and has worked across a range of operators, consultancies and EPC companies for more than 20 years.
The company, part of Safetec Nordic AS, is based at 1 Marischal Square in Aberdeen and also has a long-established presence in London which is headed up by senior safety engineer Lerisna Kassie. The UK team is supported by local experienced specialist contractors and technical support from Safetec’s Norwegian offices.
Mr Alnasser added: “Although much of our work comes from oil and gas, it’s been refreshing to work in a variety of different sectors over the last 12 months. This has included rail, carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects and renewables through the Dogger Bank windfarm development. These are areas we are looking to pursue more work in and we have recently joined the Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG) to support our efforts going forward.
“Our focus will continue to be on delivering cost efficiencies for our clients by providing them with the best expertise; keeping overheads low; and offering dependable, round-the-clock support. We hope to develop, grow and broaden client relationships over the coming months along with adding to the Safetec UK team.”
