Tullow Oil has said that Western Region will remain a key area of its interest in championing development in Africa through projects and initiatives around education.
The Director, External Affairs, Social Performance and Local Content at Tullow Ghana, Cynthia Lumor stated this in an interview ahead of Tullow’s annual stakeholders’ engagement with the Western Regional house of chiefs. She said Tullow considers the Western region as central to its operations and that its vision ‘Africa Oil Sustainability Progressive’ has the region as a key component.
Lumor disclosed that Tullow had embarked on series of educational projects to improve infrastructure, enhance teaching and learning as well as the provision of scholarships to host beneficiary students.
According to Lumor, the engagement offers Tullow the opportunity to brief the traditional leaders on developments since their previous year’s encounter, adding that the company would outline its new vision for Africa and highlight the status of various projects both in the western region and nationally.
“We are focused on Africa on oil on being sustainable and being progressive, and those are the key components of our new vision,” she noted.
Lumor further said that Tullow aims at being the most respectable and valuable Oil and Gas Company in Ghana and emphasized the annual dialogue with the company as very important.
