The Chairman, Nigeria Energy Forum, Dr Oluwole Adeuyi, has said that the upcoming roundtable would focus on how to facilitate investments in sustainable electrification, clean energy growth and efficient energy technologies.
Adeuyi said on Wednesday in Lagos that the two days forum would also focus on how to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal 7 in the country.
According to him, this year’s forum will address key themes pertinent to accelerating clean energy growth, increase distributed generation connections and facilitate private investments for sustainable energy development in Nigeria.
He said that the forum was supported by All On, a leading impact investor in the off-grid energy market, USAID Power Africa and Nigeria Power Sector Programme and Solarquick, a key procurement service provider for renewable technologies.
“NEF 2020 will also feature over four top-class hands-on capacity building workshops on Industrial Energy Management by UNIDO.
“Women Leaders Energy Panel by NIEEE–NEF; and Clean Energy Trade and Investment Roundtable by the UK Department for International Trade,” he said.
The chairman further said that no fewer than 300 participants were being expected to attend eight different technical, investment and training sessions to acquire new skills through practical exposure to modern energy technologies.
Similarly, Mr. Adekunle Makinde, former National Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE), said that the USAID sector program would deliver a capacity building workshop on scaling up the off-grid sector.
Makinde, also the General Co-Chair of NEF 2020, said that representative of the U.S Embassy in Nigeria was expected to present the keynote address.
He said that the forum would hold on April 1 and April 2 at the Admiralty Centre, Naval Dockyards, Victoria Island.
