The Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission is set for its biannual review of electricity tariff scheduled for June.

The commission affirmed that there would not be a significant increase in the bills paid by electricity consumers as anticipated by many experts.

This was disclosed by the commission’s chairman Prof. James Momoh in an interview with pressmen over the weekend in Abuja.

He further noted that the main purpose of the tariff review is tied to improvement in service delivery and operational efficiency on the part of the distribution companies.

Prof. Momoh noted that a committee of experts had been constituted to determine the actual cost of producing and supplying electricity to premises of Nigerians.
